Healthy Sleep Schedule

Question: Does having a healthy sleep schedule affect your mood, attitude, and athletic performance?
Hypothesis: Sleep is an essential component to rest and recovery, both physically and mentally. Depriving oneself of sleep can lead to anxiety, depression, stress and other psychological problems which can impact an athlete's ability to compete at the highest level possible. I predict that I will notice a drastic difference in how my body feels, my overall morning mood, and my attitude throughout the day.
Sources that will help me during my study
Gradisar, M., G. Gardner, and H. Dohnt (2011). Recent worldwide sleep patterns and problems during adolescence: a review and meta-analysis of age, region, and sleep. Sleep Med. 12:110-8.
This source will help me with what times I should attempt to sleep for each part of the study.
Halson, S. L. (2014). Sleep in elite athletes and nutritional interventions to enhance sleep. Sports Medicine, 44(1), 13-23.
This source should be useful to me because it talks about how athletes sleep at night.
Moore, M., and L.J. Meltzer (2008). The sleepy adolescent: causes and consequences of sleepiness in teens. Paediatr. Respir. Rev. 9:114-20;
This source will be mainly used to show the cause/effects that comes with getting a lower amount of sleep. I will track if I feel the same way.
Samuels, C. (2008). Sleep, recovery, and performance: the new frontier in high-performance athletics. Neurologic clinics, 26(1), 169-180.
This source goes hand in hand with the last source because I can use it to see if my moods match up with some documented athletes talking about what happens with their sleep.
Waterhouse, J., G. Atkinson, B. Edwards, and T. Reilly (2007). The role of a short post- lunch nap in improving cognitive, motor, and sprint performance in participants with partial sleep deprivation. J. Sports Sci. 25:1557-66.
This is a good source because I will mix in some naps throughout my study to see the effects that naps can have on the brain.
Survey questions:
What time do you go to sleep at night?
How do you normally feel when you wake up?
Do you nap in the middle of the day?
Do you wake up around the same time each day?
