1. Research Question:
How will eliminating junk food in a two week span, increase my mood and motivation?

2. Hypothesis:
Replacing junk food snacks with healthier alternatives will have a positive effect on my mood and motivation.

3. Five Sources:

           1. Harvard Health Publishing. (n.d.). Eating to boost energy. Retrieved from

Having better mood and motivation is the end result I want to have after my study. In this article, there are many examples of healthier snacks. These snacks specifically are proven to be high in substances that energize your body. This article also includes healthy eating schedules which I can use in my paper and my research.

           2. Naughton, P., McCarthy, S. N., & McCarthy, M. B. (2015). The creation of a healthy eating motivation score and its association with food choice and physical activity in a cross
sectional sample of Irish adults. The international journal of behavioral nutrition and
            physical activity12, 74. https://doi.org/10.1186/s12966-015-0234-0

This study shows facts on how eating healthy can improve motivation and mood. I will use this article to show what foods are best and also prove my hypothesis to be correct.

          3. Eat This, N. T. E. (2019, February 7). Healthy Snack Alternatives for Every Craving. Retrieved from https://www.eatthis.com/healthy-snack-alternatives-every-craving/

This website has a detail and organized list of healthy alternatives to unhealthy snacks. I can use this in my research to find new and tasty snacks that can replace the unhealthy stuff I currently eat. This website also includes easy recipes for readers to make in their own home.

           4.    FOSTER, H. (2019). Fueling Act Two: Intermission snack tips to keep you on your game for the long holiday season. Dance Magazine93(12), 80–81.

This article deals with dancers consuming the right foods so they have energy to preform their whole routine. Though it focuses on dancers, all the food talked about in the article can be for anyone who wants more energy and motivation in their life. I can use this to continue to find replacement foods for my unhealthy snacking.

             5. Schiffman, R. (2019, March 28). Can What We Eat Affect How We Feel? Retrieved from
            psychiatry.html

This article was very informative on how different foods affect your mood. Almost all the articles I found only talked about foods that positively affect your mood. In this article, foods that affect you negatively are also talked about. I feel this is helpful because  even if you start to consume foods that are helping your mood, you could still be consuming stuff that does not help and then you will see no difference at all.

4. Survey Questions:
         1. What is your favorite snack to consume?
         2. How many times a day do you consume fruits or veggies?
         3. Do you pay attention to nutrition labels?
         4. What do you consider to be unhealthy snacks?
